My Wedding Dress

Can you believe this? We had the neatest YW's activity where all the leaders brought their wedding gowns and found a young woman ahead of time to model it. We talked about temple marriage and the importance of living a virtuous life to prepare for that special day. I knew the dress was pretty small. I couldn't even put my right leg in it! Anyway, my darling neice Kirsten, ended up wearing the dress. I was thrilled! It fit her perfectly. She looked so lovely and it was fun remembering how a good friend of my mom's made the dress and my sweet mother did all the beadwork on it. I don't know why Kirsten didn't want to wear my BIG POOFY 80's veil??? It was so cool at the time! It was a fun night. I loved seeing everyone's dresses. Oh, and we brought our wedding album's too. I was a little bit embarrassed because in my pictures I pretty much looked 12 years old. Oh well. I'm grown up now and we are living happily ever after.

What a fabulous idea for Young Women. And your niece looks absolutely gorgeous in your dress. I'll have to share that idea out here. Have a great week!

Love,
Claudia

How lovely Kirsten looks in your dress. That was the Cinderella dress. Lots of loving hours beading it. It is so fun to see it again.

Isn't it funny to look back and see how very young we all looked!

A few weeks ago I tried on my white, lace, 'Jessica McClintock' suit that I wore to the luncheon following the wedding. We laughed so hard. I couldn't pull the skirt up above my fanny and here I really thought I was holding up so well! Oh and the shoulders were ridiculously poofy! I think being an 80s girl is awesome!!

Whenever, I think of my actual wedding dress I think of Suzanne. It is one of my connections with her that I will always cherish.
