Cagle Dairy Farm

Opportunities to accompany my children on field trips are becoming less and less. I am cherishing spending any time I can with Eliza at school, since as she gets older, won't need me so much. Our first field trip of the year was spent at the Cagle Dairy Farm. We learned all about how we get milk from cows and was able to try some of their delicious milk at the end of the tour. These 3 cuties, (otherwise known as the 3 musketeers) were all in the same kindergarten class last year and were excited to see eachother at the farm.
These baby calves feed out of huge milk bottles. They finish them in seconds. All the kids were able to pet the calves and even let the calves suck on their hands! Alot of the kids were all over it; Eliza did not even want to pet one.

Eliza's teacher can't stand the smell. She covered her nose the ENTIRE time! She's a hoot!

This is the closest I could get Eliza to a cow.

This nice country man showed the kids how they milk the cows on the farm.

They were in awe of how it is all done.

We took a hayride and watched their dog, Tib, corale all the cows right up to us.

They even stuck their heads in where we were sitting and snacked on the hay.

We were happy to take our girls home with us when it was all over.

Eliza drank down that chocolate milk!

I can almost smell the farm. Sorry but I love that smell of hay and cows. Teacher must have been a city kid all her life. The pics tell the story. What a fun day. I bet the kids thought milk just came from the store! So glad you could go. Treasure the days.
