Kindergarten Bakery

This has got to be the very cutest event our Kindergarten puts on at school. Christiana did the same activity when she was in Kindergarten, but I was unable to go. Boy, did I miss out. Besides the fact that Eliza was EXTREMELY nervous about the whole event, it was a day to remember! First of all, the parents either sent in homemade cookies, or come to the class the day before in order to bake cookies with the class. Since, Eliza gets very upset when I leave her class, I thought the best option would be to just send in the cookies. All the parents are invited to purchase cookies. When Randy and I arrived at the Bakery, this is how it all went. First, the doorway was decorated as a real bakery. As we walked in, their was a cute little boy ringing the bell for us to put our donations into the pail, (like the Salvation Army). Then to the left were the bankers; they gave us 12 pennies to purchase our 1 dozen cookies. We then proceeded to the cookie counters where Eliza was working as a server. The tables were covered in white paper and the delicious looking homemade cookies were spread out in rows. Eliza had her apron and hat on, and the best part was that she had a plastic glove on her right hand so that she could put the cookies of our choice in a bag, which was by the way, given to us by another worker after they put a special stamp on it. Can you see why this is so darn cute??? After we went to Eliza's counter, we went to 2 other counters with more cookies. We made out selections and finished at the checkout counter where one child stapled our brown bag shut, another put a sticker on it, and another collected our money. We then, enjoyed our cookies if we wanted to, or we could try some broken up samples, manned by yet another adorable Kindergartener.
I wish I could have gotten more pictures, but as you can see, Eliza was starting to have a meltdown and we knew we had to make a break for it. It broke my heart, but what else can you do. She has to stay at school! Right? I am just thankful that she did it. We weren't sure if she would. I had been emailing her teacher back and forth trying to help her through this. This little girls just wants to stay home with her mommy. The good news is, she has been doing fabulous this week. It's just hard to have to grow up sometimes.

Anna never did that in Kindergaren. I remembered they had something like that but parents didn't come. You just gave money to your child so they could buy.
I would have loved to come to something like that.

That looks like such a fun event. Your little baker didn't look to happy though. She's still adorable. The apron is still cute.
