Gabrielle's Band Concerts

Gabrielle's group had their practice performance at Spencer's high school. She is starting to not enjoy the camera in her face, so this is the best I could do. The first thing she said to me after her concert when I was so excited and proud was, "You're yelling in my ear, Mom." There you have it. Teenagers. I guess we could cut them some slack. Surely, it won't be this way forever!

Gabrielle's school band played as the closing group at Midfest at University of Georgia in Athens. It was a huge honor to have been picked as the final group. We were all blown away by the caliber of this group. They are a 7th and 8th grade Honor Band that is playing high school level music. When they finished everyone stood up and cheered. They really were AMAZING! Gabrielle's teacher had been so stressed out about this performance and has not been as "nice" as he used to be. This is how Gabi put it. But, after this performance, he was starting to cry, as he told the kids how proud he was of them. He also received an award that night which meant alot, since UGA was the school he attended. He was beaming. I think he will now relax and be a bit more pleasant. I'm sure he will. He is a great guy. I know you can't see her, but Gabrielle is right in the front and center.
