She Did It!!!!!

Eliza has been wanting her ears pierced and has been absolutely sure that she is ready. I told her we could do it over the Christmas break and she pushed hard for Thanksgiving. I said that we will have to ask Daddy and of course he said "yes." I told her we could do it Friday or Saturday at the end of the break and she REALLY wanted to do it the Saturday at the beginning of the break, so I yielded since we weren't too terribly busy. It was just the two of us when we made our way to Claire's. As soon as we got out of the car she started getting really nervous. Long story short, she couldn't go through with it. She felt bad that she was not as brave as everyone else.

She wanted to bring Christiana and go again that evening. No way! I put her off until Monday, but only if she was definitely sure this time. I told her there was no turning back if I took her again. She brought both Christi and Gabi this time for extra support. Another long story short, she almost didn't do it AGAIN, but then........she did. This is what she looked like when we got there and another little girl was getting her ears pierced.

Big sister tried to get her mind off of it while we waited our turn. They looked at all the collection of earrings that we sure didn't have back when I was a little girl. They had cheeseburger and fries earrings, puppy dog earrings, zipper earrings, ring pop earrings, days of the week earrings, and even pop tart earrings!

She started to loosen up just a tad.

She did it! And she was happy with the results.

They are little blue flower earrings. She was sure that was what she wanted. I love, love that about her.

Her sisters were so proud!

I am so proud of you Eliza. I was a mom before I got mine done and I was nervous too! You faced your fears and look at the cute result! Congratulations.

I am so showing this post to my girls. Love it! Sarah informed me the other day that when she has a baby girl she's gonna have her pierce her ears at 2 months. She said it's cultural! Ha!
