There's a first for everything

Gabrielle was determined to spend her summer in Utah. Spencer wanted to also, but since he just went over Spring Break, that wasn't an option for him. Not ready to send my child off for an entire summer, we compromised on a week at EFY and a week and a half to visit family. That is definitely the longest we have had a child away. We shall see how it goes. I already miss her.

Flying all by yourself for the first time is a little nerve racking for the one flying but probably more so for the dear old Mom. We talked her through the whole process including security and changing planes on her layover. We texted and talked on the phone at every step. When I talked to my brother on the phone who was picking her up and heard him say, "There she is," I felt complete relief like we had really accomplished something. She made it!!!!!
