July 4th at the Park

We didn't realize till the very day that there were fireworks the night before the the 4th, so we didn't prepare as much as we wanted to. We just grabbed a few food items out of the pantry, chairs, and blankets and headed out. This is our second year coming to this park to view the fireworks on the square. It is so perfect with a playground, baseball diamond, and dog park. Some of the kids begged to bring our little doggie, but that didn't happen. She would just be a pain, so I have on my list of things to do, to take Mitzie to the dog park sometime soon. That would be a fun little summer time outing. We are sitting at the top of a pretty steep hill that alot of the children like to roll or slide down on cardboard boxes. We always forget to bring the cardboard box. They love the playground anyway, even the big kids.

You really can't tell in this picture, but the hill really is pretty steep. Spencer reached down to grab his water bottle and went flying down the hill. For real. But, good thing he is a ninja because he caught himself. It was and amazing save!

We did this the night before the 4th and then on the 4th went to Grandma and Grandpa's for the "driveway of fire." We shot off our own fireworks and kids went sparkler crazy. It was a very fun filled weekend! Happy 4th of July!

Looks like a fun night. I wish I could have seen Spencer's ninja move.
