Fun Run

Gettin' ready to run.
And off she goes!

Her cheeks sure got pink. She was workin' hard.

Watch close. Eliza will be coming around the track on the far left in pink capri sweat pants and 2 ponytails in her hair.

Christiana and Eliza participated in a fundraiser for their school to build a track. They asked for pledges to support them in however many laps they ran. They were given a certain amount of time and each time they ran a lap their teacher would mark it off on the back of their shirts. Eliza held a steady pace. Those Kindergarteners sure had some energy. I had gone earlier to see Christiana's grade and forgot my camera. I was so bummed because it was such an exciting event. It would have normally been outside, but we had had so much rain the day before and it continued to rain the day of. This was by far the most exciting fundraiser my kids have ever done. I wasn't too thrilled when they came home with a DVD around their neck about the fundraiser and the kids were so pumped about it, but the more I learned about it and saw what the kids did, it proved to something worth participating in. I was impressed with what a great job the company did. They first came to the school and did a pep rally for the kids with fun music and motivation to DREAM BIG in all aspects of their life. The kids could enter their pledges on the website and then the company, called Boosterthon would come every day to the school and give them prizes for their pledges. The day of the run, they introduced each class as they entered through the blow-up tunnel in a full run, while they played upbeat music. It was actually tear-jerking to see these kids. I am such a sap. (I cried at the elementary talent show last weekend too.) The announcers motivated them as they ran and the parents cheered. Can you just imagine? Now, I'm ready to get out and run! When's the next race?

Our school is doing it too! Ya I wasn't excited either when they came home with the DVD, but I was impressed too with the co. and idea. Your a good mom to go down there and cheer your kids on. Go Carrie!!
