Annelise, Kirsten, Eliza, and Gabi ( We did get some of the teens for a few minutes.)

Wendi and I decided that since last year, staying up with the many, many children of all ages, of whom can be very noisy and wild, it would be best to bring in the New Year at 9:00pm. The only way we could get away with it was the fact that all the teenagers were at other parties. They would have told us how "lame" we were, if they were there, you know. It worked out great. We all gathered at Rick and Wendi's and ate wonderful food, like we always do in this family. All the kids played together and the adults chit chatted at the table. After we all celebrated with party hats and the countdown, the kids took off, and Wendi made the adults share what we learned in 2008 and what we hope for, for 2009. Some of the guys made fun and made funny remarks, but overall, it was really neat. I liked it. It was perfect timing, when after the countdown at 9:00, we heard fireworks outside. Wendi brags that she planned it that way. Uh-huh. The girls watched fireworks from Josie's bedroom window. It's great when you can "mooch" off other people's goodies. We had a fun night.
