Care Bear Checkers

There's nothing like a good game of checkers, Care Bear checkers, that is. Eliza has discovered that she really likes this game. I played with her a few weeks ago and realized that I couldn't remember all the ins and outs of the game. She beat me. Christiana and Eliza thought that it was so funny that I didn't know what I was doing. So, Eliza pulled it out to play with her Dad. She knew she would dominate. Randy and Eliza participated in a little pre-game banter, talking "smack" if you will. Randy beat her the first time. How could he do that? She's only 4, I mean 6. ( I don't want my little girl to grow up.) She was pretty upset, so they played again. Victory! She won the second game and then the 3rd game, well they decided that Eliza's king went on vacation to avoid being jumped from all different angles. Eliza was happy with that decision.

Eliza turned all the bears so that they could pose for the picture.Eliza is thinking it through. She has got to make just the right move. Randy would get after her for trying out several moves before she decided on one and then would forget where her bear started.

You have to be on your toes when you play Eliza. She's good.

Eliza takes no thought of the season. Shorts and a t-shirt it is on Sunday afternoon in January. I talked her into at least putting on some bright colored socks to keep her feet from turning to ice. She was excited about her draw full of socks of every color. Her friend gave her a few things and it is always exciting to have something new to wear, even if it's just socks.
