Spencer's 20th Birthday

Spencer's birthday was unexpectedly extra fun.  I knew it would be nice, but with Spencer and his friends, it was quite entertaining.  Michael Womack, a long time friend since birth joined us, and Spencer's best friend since the 6th grade, Malcolm Short, who was home from Guam serving in the military was with us too.  If you will notice Spencer's necklace, he thought he needed to wear red beads for his birthday. Spencer made fun of Malcolm for wearing a  scarf, and Michael's long hair ended up being straightened and braided by Gabrielle.

This is our dinner crew.  We always have Gma and pa Krogh for Sunday dinner.

Spencer opened his gifts and was laughing at Michael's card.  He ended up with some itunes cards, cash, a new pair of jeans, and a custom bowling ball, shoes, and bag, with a private bowling lesson.

I like to make the birthday cakes if they will let me.  They aren't anything fancy.  This one was a red velvet with vanilla icing.

We had Grandpa bring over his VCR since we do not own one anymore.  I pulled out an old video of when Spencer was a little one.  That is Spencer and Gabrielle on the screen on Christmas morning.  The videos were so fun to watch.  We haven't seen them in years.

Here is proof of Gabrielle straightening Michael's hair.  He has 4 sisters and they have never done this to him before.  I was shocked.  He played the guitar for us intermittently through the night.  We loved it.  He is so good at it.  You can see Grandpa in the backround talking to Malcolm.  Since Grandpa was in the military too, he liked to talk to Malcolm about it.

Spencer says this will be his last birthday at home for awhile.  I'm glad it was a good one.
