Our Second Annual Dance Recital

I couldn't believe how many people we squeezed in for my first classes recital. I had to take 2 pictures to get everyone in and actually I still don't think I got everyone unless you look in the mirror and see the Dad's lining the walls. Next year, we will probably have to move this somewhere else, but I sure love having it in our home. It is such a treat for me.

This is my first class, the 5-8 year olds. There were 10 girls in this class, but one quit, she just was not into and 1 was going to be out of town for the recital. I can't imagine squeezing anyone else in. They danced to a Steve James song about choosing good friends and also "Zippity Doo Dah" for their jazz dance. The parents were beaming watching their little cuties.

This was my second class, a beginner class for 9-12. There were 2 other girls in this class that could not be in the recital due to family vacations. Christiana takes this class to help demonstrate and also for extra practice. They danced to "Colors of the Wind." It was beautiful. You can't really see, but they all had big white flowers on the side of their buns. They looked so nice.

This is my third class, but are actually my first girls I started teaching with last year when I only taught one class. The girl in the middle joined us this year and has caught up fabulously! They danced to a classical song for ballet and then a Backstreet Boys song for jazz. This is their jazz costume. They loved it so much, some of them wore them to church the next day.

I am proud of the girlies. We discovered that dance was not Eliza's thing even though she would be awesome at it if she wanted to. I may teach a class outside of my studio next year in order to get Eliza a tumbling class. She loves gymnastics. Christiana loves to dance. I am loving this new chapter in my life!
