One After the Other

Christi girl has been one busy girl lately. She loves to be involved in everything at school, even other friend's schools. Her friend from church that also takes dance from me, asked her to be in the talent show with her at her elementary school, the last year before middle school. Her Mom actually called me the day before they were to have their first practice at the school. Are you crazy? She assured me that the dance did not have to be long and they could just do one that they have been working on in class. They added just a little bit more to it and off they went to rehearsal. Boy, they are brave! We went to the performance about 4 weeks later and they did so great! They even smiled and got into it. I was quite proud of them. They look like sisters, don't they?

The actual night of the last performance was the same day that Christiana had to try out for her own school talent show. She was juggling 2 different dances and practicing for both. She loves it, though. It didn't stress her a bit. These girls came and practiced in my basement studio several times after school. They made up the whole dance themselves. I didn't choreograph any of it, except a combination they used from dance class. Christiana taught it to her friends. I was very impressed at what a great job they did. One of the teachers commented on how nice it was to see them dance appropriately for their age. Alot of dance studios tend to want to make them grow up too quick and teach them how to dance like adults. I was glad she recognized their wholesome-ness. (another made up word, by me) Christiana's energy will serve her well in life. I just hope I can keep my energy up trying to keep up with her!
