Catching Up

To catch you up on what has been happening in our neck of the woods, Christiana had a birthday this month, and I also have a few pics of her piano recital. I talked her into a low key party this year. We have been having party's for all kids since they were very small every year, and I am just tired. Not of my kids having birthdays, I LOVE celebrating their birthdays, but just of planning and carrying out parties. So, this year we decided to go out to eat with just our family and Grandma and Grandpa. The waiter must have heard us singing "Happy Birthday" to her, because he then brought out this cake for her. He called Christi and Eliza "princess" all night. So nice. Christiana has been telling me that she isn't too fond of cake anymore, but this one she loved. I think it was because the icing was almost like Cool Whip, (her favorite thing in the world.)

Once we got home, her two cousins that are her age came over, Josie and Alyssa, and her best bud, Anna. They spent the night after dancing, having a fashion show, (that I had nothing to do with except video tape), and watched The Chipmunks movie. Alyssa went home with a cold, though. We missed her in the morning when we ate pancakes, one of her favorite foods.

Christiana calls Grammy to thank her for her gift. Mom, I thought it would be fun to see her smiling face as she talks with you. She does love talking on the phone. Can you say, "tween?"

Anna, Christiana, Alyssa, Josie, and the party's ever present mascot, Eliza. I am glad they were so good to her.

A week later was the Christmas piano recital. She had 2 of her cousins in it as well. I always love these recitals. It is relaxed and so enjoyable. I have always loved being in Karie's (the piano teacher's) home.

This dress is from Christiana's Georgia grandparent's for her birthday. Her birthday comes just in time to have a new dress to wear to her recitals. This has happened 2 years in a row. Lucky us!

I had to snap a picture of this beautiful sight tonight. Randy is teaching the girls a song to sing on Sunday, when he and his siblings will be doing our sacrament meeting at church. They thought it would be nice to have the kids all sing. It will be a nice group of cousins singing, "The Night of All Nights." I can't wait for that.

Christiana is a beauty. She is growing up so lovely. Love all the new clothes and the darling sweater she wore for the birthday dinner. Cousins look like they were having fun. Eliza laying across their laps looks like one of the big girls almost. The baby is growing up. Ugh!
